Nominator's project description

Professor Adnan Ibrahimbegovic is known for his contributions to computational mechanics, especially for his work on finite elements with drilling degrees of freedom. Next to contributions to dynamics and plasticity, the focus of his work is now on multi-scale problems for seterogeneous materials. Additionally, he has to be recognized for his efforts to re-establish ties between researchers in all states of his native former Yougloslavia and the international scientific community.
